About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Niantic River Watershed Committee (NRWC) is to:

Restore and preserve the Niantic River Watershed through inter-municipal cooperation and the sound development of land use practices that mitigate pollution of the watershed, and that support all uses including shell fishing, fishing, swimming, boating, habitat, and drinking water supplies.

Who we are

The NRWC consists of up to two representatives from each town within the Niantic River watershed: East Lyme, Montville, Salem, and Waterford. Learn more about the board here.

The committee is assisted by a coordinator who serves to conduct activities, write grants, and evaluate achievements within the watershed plan. Learn more about the NWRC Coordinator, Dr. Jamie Vaudrey here.
